Poltavschyna (Poltava province) is a picteresque land, glorified by Gogol and Kotlyarevskiy. The land of Cossak`s freemen, which in 15-16 cent. was the stronghold of Ukraine. Peter the Great, Swedish KIng Karl XII and Hetman Mazepa have taken part in Poltava battle on 1709 here. 110 km from Poltava the new town of Komsomolsk (population - 52,000) is spread over the bank of hoary Dnipro, among the poplars and pine-trees, which history began since 1960.

   Êomsomolsk is a compact town, here everything is quite near - Dnipro river, administrative institutions, stores, parks, beachs. Transport connection with Kyiv, Kharkiv, Dnipropetrovsk, Poltava, Cherkassy is carried out by minivans-marshrtkas. En route to Kyiv you can get the International Boryspil Airport (KBP). Kremenchuk - the biggest city of Poltava province - is situated 20 km from Komsomolsk. There is a railways connection between Kremenchuk and Komsomolsk. In the beginning of 2006 the high-speed railroad line Kyiv - Kremenchuk - Kyiv is opened.

    Poltava Ore Mining Enterprise (POME) is the basic town and budget creating enterprise in Komsomolsk. POME is every second tone of concentrated ore, which produced in Ukraine, more than 85% of exported production, new technologies and technical equipment.

    Tourists can visit a huge career of POME (length - 6,5 km, width - 2,1 km, depth - 298), POME`s museum, a sturgeon farm, picturesque beaches on Dnepr, Psyol and in a Barbara gulf in Komsomolsk.  In vicinities of town tours for fans of archeology, hunting and fishing, gathering of mushrooms and berries, quiet rest on suburban bases of rest are organized.  Tours around Poltava province "Historical Poltavschyna", "Gogol Tracks", "Sorochynska Fair", "On farm near Dykanka", on a balneological resort Myrgorod are carried out from Komsomolsk.
